Apopka Food Truck Roundup

I was invited last week to Apopka's monthly Food Truck Roundup. I was asked to help promote the Old Florida Outdoor Festival, we handed out a whole bunch of flyers and advertisements. I brought out the Fired Up and her Truck! After a day of waxing and cleaning she was ready to be presented! My family came out as well and all had a great time including my little one, Cash. We met a lot of great people and booked a few trips from it as well. We are looking forward to the concerts and the festivities to follow. Please be sure to come see Fired Up at the festival. Shirts will be on sale as well!! We have long sleeve and short sleeve!

First Trip of 2012

Decided to go out for the first time after 6 months with a great couple who has been steady repeat customers. I tried talking them out of the trip but that wasnt going to happen! Everyone met up at 7am and was ready to go. The weather finally decided to calm down for our day and we were all excited. I went to start the boat up and no good! Batteries dead....... So, My boy Chuck at handler helped me out with a loaner and I was good to go. We all loaded back up and headed out. I heard a few hickups in the port motor, Not a great start. But what do I get for letting the boat sit for almost 6 months..... I did run it once a week on a hose but I guess thats not enough,oh, and the fuel I use in NON ethenol..... I go to throttle up and motor is starving for fuel and actually stalls out. I have a feeling i know what it is, VST Filter, I had a spare in the truck.

They decided to go get some breakfast while I tore the vst apart and replaced the filter... 45 minutes later we try it again. we get a mile out all seems great then it starts again.... I took the VST apart out on the ocean. Anyway, on a last ditch effort I swapped the external filters between the motors and the problem went away! I HAVE NO IDEA!!! We all said ok lets do it, worse comes to worse theres Sea Tow. I said perfect lets go!

We were finally fishing by 12 It started a bit slow then a tripple header! we landed 2, then a double header then a single and we found a spot that held a few nice fish. we all had a lot of fun and the trip went great. We were back in by 330 We had 6 total, 3 fish in the 20lb range and 3 smaller ones. Turned out to be a great day! Unfortunately I had to get back to work for the last half of my shift....BUT that was good too!

Food Truck Roundup

Just wanted to add a few things. I was asked to participate in Februarys, Apopka Food Truck Roundup. Its going to be in Kit Land Nelson Park in Apopka on Park Ave. Its held the first thursday of each month. Its a great event with plenty of great food to offer, get there early, its gets bigger and bigger each month and the trucks actually run out of food at some points.I will be out there with the Fired Up Boat and truck handing out flyers for the festival and a little business promoting. If you'd like to talk fishing I will be glad to do so as well. Should be a good time for sure!

REMINDER!!!! The Old Florida Outdoor Festival is just around the corner! Feb 10,11,12.... Jake Owen and Tracy Lawrence will be there for the night concerts! Its going to be a great time for the family. Bring the kids and come check out the fishing section!

Morning On The River

Well, I had the chance to finally get out on the river with a friend of mine and it was a great day. Actually, we didnt catch any fish But it was a beautiful day none the less. We put in at 520/A1A and ran till we found clean water wich was around the Islands and towards Pineda, (south).. The river was a sheet of glass and was absolutely beautiful. The boat ran great. I found out my trolling battery was dead 15 minutes into the trip and im sure that didnt help getting stealthy on the fish. Although my 4 stroke is quiet, Its still a motor. AND im working on getting a platform and pole. I think that wouldve definately helped! I ran 38 miles according to my gps and used almost 3 gallons of gas. Gotta love that one! If you have any decent stories please share

A New Year

Hello and welcome to Fired up Charters! I am starting up a new blog this year. Please feel free to comment and ask questions. I would like to start by saying happy New Year and I hope its a great one for everyone! I hope it brings new joys and leaves some of the past in the past!!! We are starting to book trips for next year already!!!! Looking forard to getting back out there. We took a little break the last few months.
We have a few festivals and shows planed for the beginning of the year along with a few tournaments planned. I will list the dates in the next blog. We have a few new Captains to add to the Team. Both are excellent fisherman with great knowlege of the water and fishing!!!!! I will have there profiles updated and available on the site soon. We also have a new mate that will be utilized on small passenger trips. With all this said, I look forward to getting out there really soon and providing you with the best service and most fun as possible!!!!!
