Decided to go out for the first time after 6 months with a great couple who has been steady repeat customers. I tried talking them out of the trip but that wasnt going to happen!  Everyone met up at 7am and was ready to go. The weather finally decided to calm down for our day and we were all excited. I went to start the boat up and no good! Batteries dead....... So, My boy Chuck at handler helped me out with a loaner and I was good to go.  We all loaded back up and headed out. I heard a few hickups in the port motor, Not a great start. But what do I get for letting the boat sit for almost 6 months..... I did run it once a week on a hose but I guess thats not enough,oh, and the fuel I use in NON ethenol..... I go to throttle up and motor is starving for fuel and actually stalls out. I have a feeling i know what it is, VST Filter, I had a spare in the truck.

They decided to go get some breakfast while I tore the vst apart and replaced the filter... 45 minutes later we try it again. we get a mile out all seems great then it starts again.... I took the VST apart out on the ocean. Anyway, on a last ditch effort I swapped the external filters between the motors and the problem went away! I HAVE NO IDEA!!!  We all said ok lets do it, worse comes to worse theres Sea Tow. I said perfect  lets go! 

We were finally fishing by 12  It started a bit slow then a tripple header! we landed 2,  then a double header  then a single and we found a spot that held a few nice fish.  we all had a lot of fun and the trip went great. We were back in by 330  We had 6 total, 3 fish in the 20lb range and 3 smaller ones. Turned out to be a great day! Unfortunately I had to get back to work for the last half of my shift....BUT that was good too!
